The Lost Treasure

The Lost Treasure
Who wouldn't believe what the world is lacking. . .

There he was, walking through the Scorpion Pass. Noah Houston was an old American philosopher from Civilization who suddenly found himself in The Great Valley of Olaf. From a distance, he saw two knights lost in a conversation that they didn't even notice him. He couldn't tell what year he had dropped into since the structures in the city were old-fashioned and unimpressive compared to the structures of Civilization.
He limped through the Pass and approached one of the Knights who were planning to enter into the city before he called. His question was quite an ear-blocker.
"Excuse me," he pleaded. "Please, what year is it?"
"Uh?" they were extremely shocked to hear that. "It's 536 B.C."
    "53—what!?"
He was considered an intruder and dragged all the way in a cart to the king. He was discovered to have come from a place where their men had never lived — The Future.
There was a prophecy in Olaf, In a year of immense need, a man from the place where our men have never lived shall come thus: He will help us find the lost treasure.
King Arthur interrogated Noah and found out he was from the Future, a philosopher too.
    "Philosopher? What does it mean?"
"Um, ahem, it's someone who studies nature, the universe and life. Yeah, that's it!"
"So, you're from AD 2023, right?"
He nodded. The kingdom quoted the prophecy of El-muo, Someday, you'll see the one who will help you find the treasure which is from the beginning; can't be seen but can be touched and you can feel its actions as you see them, and it can defeat the Dark Master. It's neither solid, liquid nor gaseous. It's no substance found on earth.
"This prophecy plagues my heart with the thought that the treasure can't be found. What can be from the beginning, can't be seen but we can feel its actions; can be touched and felt, and protects men from the Dark possessing them?"
"Sire, I don't know. . ." came the reply from Noah.
The king raged in anger and ordered that he be taken away. "I can kill you now, Sent One, but I won't. You have today to bring me the treasure. My bodyguards are yours. You have my knights and that treasure must be found. It must!!"
    "But Sire?"
    "That's an order!"
Now, the Dark was already taking control of Olaf, possessing men, women and children —  causing everyone to go against one another. Some women killed their husbands for senseless reasons and virgins were overly raped to death. Men defiled their fellow men's beds and casted their children for meal.
"Yes! Yes! My will be done!" Dark muttered joyously as he witnessed the bloodshed by Olafians.
No one was able to find the treasure since Noah said the books of El-muo had no Treasure Island map, no Chests and Treasury box. In fact, there was no Treasure Island! He instructed the Chief Knight that El-muo's prophecy sounded more like a riddle not needing a search party. He recalled the visit he paid the Chief Magistrate, Onos hours ago, and discovered he had a pretty wife and two children. Onos loved his wife and for a moment, he thought El-muo's words might have something to do with it. He saw something whose actions could be felt, but not seen; touched and protects people from themselves.
"I think I've found the treasure! What else exists from the beginning, unseen, can be felt, touched and saves men from the Dark?" He asked to see the king who was in turn embarrassed and disappointed to see him bluffing. He was waiting for the treasure, but he was told there was none.
    "Execute him!" roared Arthur.
"Sire?! But I have the answer to the riddle."
    "Riddle?"
"Hours ago, I visited the Chief Magistrate of your city and I saw his pretty wife, nice children. As I watched, I discovered in El-mou's prophecy that Olafians are people who desperately erred, controlled by Dark: they are in constant murdering of the weak and those who hurt them. They know no mercy. "
   "So?"
"El-mou's prophecy was a riddle — this treasure existing from the beginning, unseen but with visible actions; can be felt and touched and can protect men from the Dark. Sire, it's no earthly treasure."
"Sire, it must be of a god!" cried the Chief Magistrate.
"No, Onos, there's only one God who is love. Love is from the beginning; can't be seen but its actions can be witnessed, felt and it can be touched. It prevents men from the Dark."
"This sounds like the words of a fool," King Arthur blurted.
"Yes, but if the people of Olaf can show love for each other, Dark will not be able to reach them."
After several arguments, the Dark grew larger in the city and the message was passed around to the Olafians that Dark fed on hatred, anger, murder and strife and only love is the lost treasure that can save them from him.
As they loved, Dark became reduced and a shield was formed all around the city that he couldn't pass through anymore. Only strife and murder could bring him in. Anger and hatred would weaken the shield.
Suddenly, Noah was transported back to Civilization and discovered it was all a dream. Before then, King Arthur muttered these words,
"Love was our lost treasure. Now, we've found it. Let it romance you!"
Thus, the prophecy of El-mou was no doubt a riddle, but it was a riddle Noah Houston was taking back to Civilization.
